Xingnan Primary SchoolXingnan Primary School was established in 1932 as a Chinese medium public school with only ten pupils studying in a Chinese temple in Hong Kah Road It was then known as Sin Nan Public School.
Because of more people enrolling into the school, the school shifted to its former site at Jurong Road in 1939. It remained on that position till 1986.

During the Japanese Occupation, the school was forced to close. After the Second World War, with strong support from the village community leader and the School Management Committee, the school reopened its doors and expanded its physical facilities as pupil enrolment rose rapidly. In 1953, the school raised funds to replace the attap roofs with zinc roofs.In 1982, Xingnan Primary School became an English-medium, government-aided school and took in its first batch of Malay pupils.
Slowly, Xingnan Primary School invested time and money to upgrade and then in 1988, It moved to Jurong West St 91. The school finally settled down and received batches of students, overcoming all obstacles. Their highest PSLE T-score was 284 and it has received many awards such as the Sustained Achievement award and became the W3 Cluster Center of Learning for Chinese Language and Culture in 2009.
Jurong Point
Jurong Point first opened its doors on 5 December 1995 with 95 retailers including Courts, NTUC FairPrice, Kopitiam,Old Chang Kee and Soo Kee Jewellery, all of which were setting up shop within a mall environment for the first time and have not moved out since then. Jurong Point has undergone two expansions. In 1998, an additional 150,000 square feet (14,000 m2) of space was successfully secured for the first extension of Jurong Point, which opened on 2 December 2000. Jurong Point was enlarged to 450,000 square feet (42,000 m2) in JP1 during this extension. In 2008, it was further enlarged to 750,000 square feet (70,000 m2), with the addition of JP2, a new wing. After its 2nd expansion, it houses 10 famous retail zones with additional anchors such as Yue Hwa Chinese Products, FairPrice Xtra and Harris Bookstore. With the addition of JP2, parking lots significantly increased from 415 to 1467. Shopping traffic at JP1 and JP2 total up to more than 3 million shoppers a month and crowded every weekend.
JP1 has about 220 retailers and JP2 has about 230, adding to a total of 450 retailers. This makes it Singapore's largest shopping mall in terms of number of tenants, compared to 335 in VivoCity. Notable tenants include John Little and Fairprice Xtra.
Nanyang Technological University
Nanyang Technological University, or NTU, was opened in 1955. It is one of the two largest public universities in Singapore with the biggest campus in the country and the world's largest engineering college. Its lush 200-hectare Yunnan Garden campus was the Youth Olympic Village of the world's first 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in 2010. One of the fastest-growing research universities in the world, NTU's share of competitive research funding has increased sevenfold since 2005, with significant funds devoted to the setting up of two Research Centres of Excellence – the Earth Observatory of Singapore and the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering.
